Description
Range Day- March 5, 2026
California CCW Renewal Course (in-person portion at the range) 8:00PM – 10:00PM
(4:30PM – 6:00PM in the classroom for those doing the multi-state portion)
Range: (This is where we’ll meet at about 7:50PM)
FT3 Tactical
8230 Electric Ave
Stanton, CA 90680
(Parking can be challenging, but if nothing is open in the range’s lot, there’s also a back area behind the gate that has available spots as long as it’s not marked as “tow away zone”. The paint store next door also has spots open. Even though it says “no parking”, their store is closed by the time we’ll get there and they will not tow.)
Physical Classroom:
*IMPORTANT- You will NOT be going to the classroom unless you are doing the optional multi-state portion class before the initial class. The multi-state portion takes place at the time listed above.
13252 Garden Grove Blvd., Suite 216
Garden Grove, CA, 92843
(You can park in the open lot next to the building or in the garage underneath the complex. If you park underneath however, please don’t park in stalls marked as “reserved”. Take the stairs or elevator to the 2nd floor.)
Class Details:
This is an “Online Classroom” CCW class, also referred to as “Blending Learning”, for those needing to fulfill the renewal training requirement for a California Concealed Firearm Permit Renewal. The Blended Learning option allows CCW renewal applicants to take nearly all of the required classroom training online and is approved by Orange County, San Diego County, and some city police departments within Los Angeles. Unfortunately however, at this time the online format is NOT approved by the Los Angeles County Sheriff. If you are applying for your renewal through the LAPD, L.A. County Sheriff’s Department, or some city PDs in Los Angeles County, do NOT register for this version of the class. We are approved to teach the course for the LAPD and L.A. County, but the instruction must be done in-person. Consequently, please look to see if a public “in-person” class is scheduled. We are also available to schedule a private “in-person” class for renewal applicants to any of the aforementioned counties.
The CCW renewal curriculum is divided into 13 online modules and a few quizzes. After completing the online training, you’ll join us at the range on the date you’ve chosen (details can be found below). We’ll have time for some Q & A to clarify any content from the online course and then you’ll complete the live fire requalification with the guns you’re listing on your permit and we’ll sign your course certificate. Note that you must qualify all of the guns you’re listing on your permit, even if you had qualified them before when you took your initial CCW class.
There are several advantages to taking your CCW class in the Blended Learning format. Even though we need you to commit to a specific range day, you can watch the online training videos at your own convenience and from the comfort of your home. The only constraint is that you must have the online training completed before coming to the range date.
Another advantage to online training is that we’ve included a Bonus Section of several videos available for you to watch at no additional cost. These sections were originally part of our full day classes before we streamlined the course. While we feel that this additional material addresses very important CCW concepts, this section is not mandatory to view. The core 13 modules that you are required to watch meets the mandatory 8-hour curriculum required by California law for your renewal.
Sign-up Options:
The basic details are found by clicking on the “Class Details” tab to the side of this box. Please read ALL of the tabs regarding what to expect from class, what to bring, and the terms for cancellation or rescheduling.
Also, please carefully read the options for adding the optional “multi-state CCW” qualification and for the optional fingerprinting as it can be somewhat confusing if you select the options without reading them first. If you took your initial CCW class with us and did your UT, AZ, and or FL licenses at that time, check your expiration dates on those permits because they are valid for 5-7 years (much longer than California’s 2-year permit). Additionally, there is no requirement to take a renewal class for those permits as long as you keep the license current by submitting a renewal application with your fees via mail or online.
If you’re interested in an online California CCW renewal class with a private qualification, please do not sign up here. Go back to the course page and register for this private option for $310. There’s an extra surcharge for travel time and fuel if you’d like us to travel to a range near you in Los Angeles or San Diego Counties. Scheduling is generally flexible on weekdays.
If you’re interested in a public “in-person” class without any online classroom, the full 8-hour class is occasionally taught by this method to accommodate our customers in L.A. which require it. The cost is $250 and dates will be posted on the main course page.
Finally, if you would like the option of a private, full “in-person” option, the rate is $650 for one person. If you’re doing the renewal as part of a private group, the cost goes down with each person you add. In either case, please contact us to set up a private one-day fully “in-person” class. The classroom portion can be taught at your home or office or at our classroom in Long Beach and Garden Grove. As stated above, an in-person class is currently required for applicants renewing through L.A. County and some city agencies.
Eye and Ear Protection:
It’s highly advisable that you bring your own eye and ear protection on our range day. Some of the ranges we use no longer lend out this equipment and you may have no option but to buy it there at the range if you don’t have your own. For your convenience, you’ll see options at checkout to purchase these items with your class and we’ll have it here waiting for you. We carry the AXIL line of hearing protection. AXIL started out as a hearing aid company so the quality of their electronic protection is the top in the industry. There’s options for their standard “passive” ear muffs providing 32 dB of protection to electronic noise suppression ear muffs and ear buds that amplify ambient noises (such as range instructions and conversations), while at the same time suppressing any noises above 85 dB. The most advanced of their ear muffs and ear buds also have Bluetooth integrated within them so you can answer phone calls and listen to music from your phone without taking them off. You can learn more about each of these products through the company’s website below, but purchase them through us and you’ll get a much better discount. We also carry good quality Bollé safety eye glasses that you can add to your cart.
Please go to this LINK to purchase these items, but these discounts are only available for registered students and not the general public. Please let us know if you have any questions!
